Tenby Haven Cottage suits families and groups wanting to be in the thick of Whitby's action without sacrificing peace and quiet. The cottage spreads across three floors on West Cliff, close enough to reach the harbour, abbey and town centre on foot, yet tucked away enough to feel like a genuine retreat. A south-facing patio provides outdoor space rare in a town-centre location, and parking for two cars sits on site.
Inside, the layout works well for shared holidays. A sitting room with bay windows faces onto the street; the kitchen and dining area has room for everyone to eat together; and three bedrooms—a double, a twin, and a top-floor room beneath sloping ceilings—spread the party across the building. There's a family bathroom plus a ground-floor WC. Bed linen, towels, wifi and electricity are all included. The cottage is non-smoking.
Whitby itself offers the abbey, 199 steps, a sandy beach, independent shops and the tangle of the old town, along with festivals and seafood restaurants. Walking into the North York Moors is straightforward from here for anyone wanting to venture beyond the coast.
