The Driftwood Cabin
North Yorkshire

Built from Dales stone in the 17th century, The Driftwood Cabin retains original features—exposed beams, natural stonework, a wood-burning stove—while functioning as a thoroughly contemporary holiday home. It stands in a rural setting near Whitby, on the edge of walking country, with a pub within a mile for evening meals and drinks.
Three bedrooms sleep six: a king with en-suite shower, a double, and a twin. There's a second bathroom with shower on the upper level. The kitchen is fully fitted with a dishwasher and combined washer-dryer, so you can manage self-catering or laundry without fuss. A wood stove warms the main living space, and there's a 50-inch smart TV for quieter evenings. Outside, a flagged patio and grass paddock give space to sit or for children to play. Electricity, bed linen and towels are provided. One dog is welcome to stay.
The location works for walkers exploring the Pennine Way or gentler riverside paths, and for cyclists touring the region's valleys and passes. Nearby Hawes—Yorkshire's highest market town—has shops, restaurants and the Wensleydale Cheese visitor centre. Ancient abbeys, castles and village churches scatter across the surrounding landscape. Smoking is not permitted inside.

What guests say
Flat has everything you need for a stay in Whitby. It is small but has plenty of space for 2. Only bad thing for me was the parking, was ok dropping stuff off but finding a parking space was hard, but wouldn't put me off staying there again.

Great wee cottage, everything you need for your stay. Good location a few minutes walk from a couple of pubs and The Endeavour that are all dog friendly. A bit hard to find, and parking nearby can be an issue, but would definitely recommend staying here.

A very modern cottage furnished and decorated to a high standard. It was very well equipped with a comfortable bed and great shower. Free parking outside was a bonas. Will definitely book again!

What lovely accommodation that exceeded our expectations! Spotlessly clean, beautifully presented, well equipped, and comfortable. Really quiet location although just a few minutes walk along the harbour from the centre of Whitby, past the fabulous Endeavour pub! The biscuits, milk and chocolate egg were a lovely touch - thank you. We cannot wait to return again soon! Richard and Lynn
