The Granary is a single-storey apartment on the edge of Thirsk, with everything on one floor: an open-plan living area centred on a wood-effect electric stove, a separate kitchen with full cooking facilities, a bedroom with a 4ft 6in double bed, and a shower room. The living space includes a sofa bed if you need flexible sleeping arrangements. Essentials like heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are covered, and there's parking for one car on site.
The real draw is the private garden and its solar-powered hot tub, a pine cabin set up to capture countryside views. On warmer days it's open to the air; close the double doors when it's cooler. You'll also find a workstation with tools for bike maintenance and an outdoor hose for rinsing off after outdoor activity. The location puts you within reach of serious cycling routes—Boltby Bank, Cote De Sutton and White Horse Bank are all nearby—as well as the Cleveland Way for walkers. The North York Moors National Park sits close by, with the Yorkshire Dales a short drive away. No smoking inside, and the property is yours alone.

Overall a lovely little cottage, closely located to Thirsk, and within easy driving distance to York and Whitby. The property is adjacent to the owners cottage. But felt very private. It has a small parking area, garden furniture and covered hot tub…with beautiful views over the fields, if you’re lucky you can watch the Hares chasing each other. The cottage is designed very well, and has quality oak furnishings and fixtures throughout. It is equipped with all the amenities that you would expect, dishwasher, oven, kettle, toaster, hairdryer, tv etc. In the bedroom I felt that the double bed was a little snug for two adults and could have easily taken a larger bed. I also thought that the pillows were a little hard for my liking. I must also mention that the cottage is located just off an extremely busy duel carriageway, and we were unable to open any windows in the evening, in the recent heatwave due to the noise of the distant traffic wizzing past. A fan is also available so we had to use that instead but that too was quite noisy. Overall. a good stay, in a lovely cottage for my partner’s birthday. I’ve marked it down to 4 stars as the noisy road kept me awake as I’m a light sleeper
