The Millsteam Barn is a single-bedroom barn conversion in the Louth area, sleeping up to four people in one property you'll have to yourself. Walking through the door, you get a full working kitchen, bathroom with shower, and sleeping space—the essentials for a self-catering stay are all there, with electricity, bed linen and towels provided.
The location is deeply rural; there's a pub within a mile if you want an evening out, otherwise you're in open countryside with walking routes on your doorstep. The barn suits families, small groups, or couples after a quiet base to explore North Yorkshire. No smoking inside. Check-in is from 16:00 and you'll need to leave by 10:00.

Stayed at The Milking Parlour after many previous stays here and at Mill Stream Barn (which is equally nice). There are holiday cottages and there are special holiday cottages. This falls into the latter category! A warm and friendly welcome from owners who are on site, not intrusive but there for anything you ask. A lovely and well managed property with everything you could possibly want for a relaxing stay. A location which is ideal for just walking locally or trips to the coast or inland. If it is sunny the garden is wonderful and if it rains then ideal for watching the wildlife from inside. Needless to say we will be coming back again soon.

Fate brought us to the Milking Parlour. My husband booked a five day much needed break at this immaculate barn. The property is delightful in every way - equipped to a very high standard, every need plus much more catered for. Richard was friendly and helpful in an unobtrusive way and the lovely welcome pack was much appreciated. It was an oasis of calm which we intend to visit again.

May 22nd – 1st June 2026 We have just one word to describe the Mill Streat Barn – “PERFECT”. Lizzie and Richard are such lovely hosts and that reflects on the fact that people keep returning. The Barn is maintained to a very high standard, spotlessly clean and well equipped with lots of special extra touches, including the generous welcome pack which was much appreciated. The location is very peaceful and the views are spectacular. It was so lovely sitting outside listening to the running stream and watching the ducks and heron. There are lots of places to visit to suit all ages including Baumber Walled Gardens, Gunby Hall, Tattershall Castle and the Church of Holy Trinity – Louth is worth a visit especially on market days. There are also lovely beaches within 20 miles – we visited Mablethorpe and went to the beach near to the Seal Sanctury. It was very quiet and our little shorkie dog (Bee) enjoyed being able to run freely and paddle in the sea. An added bonus is that there are lots of lovely walks from the Barn – we walked to Biscathorpe, Gayton le Wold, and other Viking Way public pathways. You can also walk into the village of Donnington Bain (approx. 8mins) and visit the local pub and two small shops. We can thoroughly recommend ‘Mill stream Barn’ and we have booked again for next year. Thanks Lizzie and Richard for making our stay so special, Best wishes, Chris, Dave and Bee

We recently stayed in The Milking Parlour with our two bearded collies (Blossom & Myrtle) and were blown away by every little detail Richard and Lizzie have thought of. The welcome hamper is one of the best we’ve had, the other provisions, the equipment, the standard of everything was superb. If we had to pick anything that could have been better it would be for a couple of steamers / loungers outside (we had beautiful weather) and a slightly larger, more lollopy sofa! But we are definitely adding this to our list of favourite places to stay (and return to!), thank you for everything.
