The Owlery at Aysgarth

The Owlery at Aysgarth is an inverted barn conversion where you'll sleep upstairs in a super king bedroom with ensuite, then descend to an open-plan living area on the ground floor. The kitchen has electric cooking, a fridge-freezer and washing machine; the living space centres on a 43-inch smart TV and dining table. Heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are included. There's a small garden with sitting-out area and private parking for one car on the 1-acre grounds, though you'll be sharing the wider natural surroundings with the owner.

Aysgarth village sits in the heart of Wensleydale, with a pub, shop and restaurants all within walking distance. The property lies on a quiet no-through road, backing onto open countryside. A half-mile walk across fields brings you to Aysgarth Falls; the same footpath forms part of the Wainwright Coast to Coast route and connects Bainbridge and Hawes. From here you can access walking routes ranging from gentle riverside strolls to more demanding climbs, including ascents of Penhill. The deli in Leyburn and Wensleydale Creamery are nearby. No smoking. Babes in arms are welcome; older children are not. The grounds have slopes.
