The Smithy

Couples and small families will find The Smithy works well for a break in North Yorkshire. The property is a former agricultural building, now converted into self-contained holiday accommodation that sleeps four across two bedrooms. Each bedroom has its own bathroom—one with a walk-in shower, the other with a bath and shower over—so there is no queue for the morning routine. The first bedroom contains a zip-and-link bed that can be configured as either a kingsize or two singles; the second is a double. Both have Freeview television.

Downstairs, an open-plan living space combines a sitting area with dining and kitchen zones, opening onto a patio. There is an enclosed garden to the rear and a second patio at the front, plus use of shared grounds. The kitchen has a full electric oven, ceramic hob, microwave, fridge and washing machine, so you can cook and manage laundry during your stay. Heating is underfloor and oil-fired; electricity, bed linen and towels are included. One dog travels free. There is parking on site and a pub within a mile.
