About Burnfoot Woodland Yurts
A taste of Mongolia in lovely Northumberland? Burnfoot Woodland Yurts tucks a handful of traditional yurts into a secluded woodland clearing about 15 minutes from Rothbury and just outside the National Park – properly away-from-it-all stuff, with dark skies for stargazing and wildlife wandering through during the day. Each spacious yurt comes with a kingsize bed plus single, rugs, comfy seating and a woodburning stove for cosy evenings, plus your own outdoor picnic space and barbecue. A fridge, kettle and toaster inside handle breakfast basics; the shared kitchen area covers anything more ambitious.
Your private bathroom is a short 50-metre walk away (torch provided for nocturnal trips), and the family-run site welcomes dogs year-round. It's a rural spot that feels genuinely remote, though Rothbury's shops and cafés are close enough when you need them, and the Northumberland National Park's empty trails are right on the doorstep for long walks and mountain biking.

An absolute gem A very comfortable yurt in a small woodland in the middle of nowhere. The individual toilets and cooking facility, an old old lorry were both excellent, pretty much every thing you need was already there. Outside was well thought out too if you wanted a fire. Inside had a log burner but it only took 10 mins to heat up really cozy. Brilliant place ❤️

I stayed here for one night because I really wanted a relaxing escape from the city… and that’s exactly what I got! If you love being in nature but still want your home comforts, this place is perfect. The yurt is so much bigger inside than you’d expect and honestly SO cosy. I absolutely loved the log burner — it was definitely needed on a chilly night and just made everything feel extra snug. The shabby chic furniture is beautiful and the whole place is decorated so thoughtfully. It just has such a cosy, welcoming feel. There are loads of lovely little touches too, like a kettle with tea and sugar, hot water bottles, and even a complimentary basket of firewood for the log burner. The kitchen deserves its own mention because it’s amazing. It’s set inside a converted horse truck and you can tell so much thought and care has gone into it. It has everything you could possibly need — pots, pans, cutlery, mugs, cups… literally everything. The attention to detail is just incredible. I’m so glad I found this place and would 100% recommend booking if you’re thinking about it. Thank you so much Faye!

Stayed here for 2 nights at Burnfoot woodland yurts. Absolutely amazing. Very pretty peaceful site with amazing views of the countryside. Each yurt has its own shower room and it's own log fire. Shared kitchen between 4 yurts was immaculate. Everything you might need was supplied and ready to use. Dog friendly and location perfect for hiking or just relaxing. Will definitly be coming again.
