Croft Cottage is a stone cottage completely renovated in 2019, set on a hillside close to Northumberland National Park. The building sits on one level, its rooms arranged around a wood burner and opening via French doors onto an enclosed lawned garden with patio. A detached property, it feels properly private, with parking for two cars and countryside views across its own grounds. The owner lives on-site.
Three bedrooms sleep up to five guests: a single and two king-size doubles, one of which has an ensuite. The main bathroom has both bath and shower. Downstairs, the kitchen is equipped for real cooking—oven, hob, dishwasher, washing machine—and the living room's open fire and Smart TV mean there's comfort for cooler evenings and quieter days. Bed linen, towels, heating, electricity and wifi are provided. One dog stays free. The cottage is non-smoking.
Rothbury, a market town on the River Coquet with independent shops, pubs and cafés, lies just over 6 miles away. Cragside House, a National Trust property, is nearby. The Simonside Hills, Kielder Water and Alnwick Castle are all within reach for a day out. The area qualifies as Gold Tier International Dark Sky Park, so clear nights are genuine possibilities.

A lovely spacious cottage for 4 to 5 people. Comfortable and extremely well equipped, with lots of "home from home" touches. Situated on the hill just out of the village centre with stunning views. A lovely welcome on arrival from the owner. Will definitely stay here again.

Peaceful, beautiful and welcoming. The Croft is so lovely. The views are amazing and its it's so quiet and peaceful you sleep really well in the very comfortable bed. All the rooms are generous in size. The log burner was delightful on chilly autumn mornings and evenings. We received a warm welcome from the owner who gave us wonderful walking ideas and directions along with delicious, shop quality, homemade jam and marmalade, milk, cream, scones and croissants for our arrival. The kitchen lacked nothing and was easy to cook in for the week we were there. Everywhere was clean and we felt safe. We will be back for another stay as we fell in love with The Croft and Northumberland.

The Croft is like a home from home, with all the amenities you'd expect at home. Lovely cottage in a gorgeous location. Very friendly welcome as usual.

Comfortable accommodation, very clean and fully equipped. Has very attractive views from it's lofty heights. The only negative is the long steep driveway leading down to the entrance which can be scary. Lovely welcome pack from the owner consisted of jams, bread, milk and croissants. Nice touch.
