A unique one of a kind place with owners and staff that made us very welcome. There is an informality that is both professional and relaxed with individual needs well attended to. The building itself oozes and has retained its history in a commercial world. Food is excellent, locally sourced and respected. They provide sites for simple camping nestled in the hills. We also participated in one of their themed/rally weekends, thoroughly enjoying the character of the place and it's hard working staff . Enjoy your visit!

Beautiful building, showing its age. The staff are really helpful and attentive and do everything they can to ensure your stay is pleasant. The area is stunning and perfect for long lazy weekends of walking or just relaxing on the immaculate garden. The rooms though are a little dated and if you're looking for 5* opulence you're in the wrong place. Recommend it for a cheap, comfortable Northumberland friendly getaway.

Unfortunately our stay was very short lived after finding out that there was no evening meal available as the kitchen was closed as an outside event was on. This had not been disclosed to us despite our booking being made weeks in advance. Our room was number 10, which we had previously stayed in approximately 1 year previously. At that time the shower was not working and was pointed out to the staff. This time the shower was still broken!! Obviously no attempt had been made to fix it. We were told we could use a shower in an other part of the hotel or have a free bottle of wine. Not acceptable after travelling so far to take part in an organised event that was ending at the hotel. Not the same event that was taking place there at the same time. If the hotel had informed us that no food would be available we would have cancelled our booking. Not acceptable after travelling so far Have requested a full refund

I have been coming to this location for the past five years, and I can honestly say I've never had a bad experience. Every visit has been enjoyable, and it's become one of my favourite places to relax and unwind. The staff are absolutely fantastic. Rocky, Roz, Ali and Tony always go above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome. They're friendly, approachable, and genuinely care about making sure you have the best experience possible. It's always lovely to be greeted by familiar faces who make you feel like part of the family. The food is consistently brilliant, with a great selection and excellent quality every time we visit. Whether you're stopping by for a meal or just a drink, you can always count on delicious food and great service. The setting is another reason we keep coming back. Surrounded by beautiful countryside, the fresh country air, stunning views, and peaceful atmosphere make it the perfect place to escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. There are plenty of lovely walks nearby, making it ideal for anyone who enjoys nature and exploring the outdoors. There's always something happening, especially at weekends, which creates a fantastic atmosphere. It's wonderful to see such a historic building still thriving and bringing people together after all these years. The only minor downside is that the mobile signal and internet connection can be a little unreliable at times. However, for me, that's a small price to pay when you're surrounded by such beautiful scenery. In fact, it almost encourages you to switch off from technology and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Overall, this place offers an amazing experience every single time. From the incredible staff and delicious food to the breathtaking countryside and welcoming atmosphere, it's somewhere I'll continue returning to for many years to come. I couldn't recommend it highly enough.
