About Yont the Cleugh Caravan Park

Yont the Cleugh Caravan Park is a caravan site at Coanwood, a village on the edge of the Pennines in Northumberland. Showers are available on site. The location puts you within reach of Hadrian's Wall, which runs through the region, and the surrounding countryside offers miles of walking terrain across moorland and valleys.

The main draw here is proximity to outdoor pursuits and historical exploration rather than on-site amenities. Haltwhistle, the nearest town, is close by and serves as a base for visiting the wall's various forts and museums. The landscape around Coanwood is open and rural, with bridleways and footpaths crisscrossing the area for those who want to explore on foot or by bike.

Having just read a recent 1 star review, I want to put the record straight. Yont The Cleugh is family owned. It is a quiet site and is well maintained. To address the 1 star issues. Ducks - there are ducks and ducks do poo but it's nowhere as bad as the 1 star reviewer makes out. Trees - true, there are trees. These are checked on a regular basis and any problems are promptly taken care of by professionals. Showers - don't use them, so can't comment. Noise / socialising - no problem unless you like to party late or make excessive noise. Bar closure - the bar was closed during covid. You can use it anytime you want, and plenty do. The only difference is you now have to take your own drinks. Grandchildren - ours stay, no issues. Junk yard - the owner does have a couple of caravans in his private yard which he takes as part exchange, usually when people change from a tourer to a static. We did the same! The site does NOT resemble a junk yard. Finally. Please don't believe the 1 star review, come visit the site and see for yourself.

Lovely friendly caravan site. Toilets and showers lovely and clean. It has a great little pub open at weekends. Scenery fab. Could do with a big field to let your dogs have a run thats the only negative point.

Owned a static here for five years and absolutely love it. My only regret being that I couldn't spend more time there. Site owners are friendly and helpful. Weekend bar is lovely. Quiet site ideal for dog walkers and countryside lovers

Nice quiet site. I was only visiting but was impressed by the tidy site (even though work is being carried out) and the peace and quiet. The people I was visiting said it's always like that and it a very handy site to access the Lakes, The Borders and Kielder, south Cumbria and south Durham.
