4 Murton Whitehouse Steading
Northumberland
Northumberland's coastline draws visitors for its sweep of empty beaches and dramatic history, while inland the rolling countryside offers quiet walks and rural charm. 4 Murton Whitehouse Steading sits just outside Berwick-upon-Tweed, positioned between these two landscapes—the A1 nearby for easy access, yet surrounded by farmland and within a few miles of the shore.
The cottage is one of six converted from a traditional steading, arranged around a central courtyard with its own garden. Downstairs, the kitchen opens to the garden through French doors, and there's a kingsize bedroom with its own shower room, plus a twin bedroom and a second shower room. Upstairs, the living room (with a woodburner and Smart TV) shares the floor with another twin room and a full bathroom. The property sleeps six and comes with bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi and initial logs for the fire; there's parking on site. No smoking.
Berwick itself is walkable distance away, with its Elizabethan walls and restaurants worth exploring. A riding school operates within 100 yards of the steading. One dog is welcome to stay.
