Amble's working harbour sits on your doorstep at Avocet Cottage. The village itself spreads along the waterfront with seafood restaurants and cafés, many with outdoor seating where you can watch the boats come and go. Sunday mornings bring a market to the harbour front, and the cobbled streets around it are lined with independent shops and small studios selling handmade goods. A walk along the estuary gets you to Warkworth within a couple of miles, where a castle overlooks tea rooms and pubs. Alnwick, fifteen minutes by car, has a castle of its own plus the kind of Georgian streets that draw visitors year-round.
The cottage itself holds three bedrooms and one bathroom across two floors. Downstairs, a living room with a woodburner and smart TV opens to a kitchen equipped for proper cooking—electric oven and hob, dishwasher, fridge and microwave all present. Upstairs, bedrooms include a zip-and-link super king, another zip-and-link pair of singles, and a bunk bed, so the layout adapts to families, friends or couples. One dog can stay free. Parking is on road; there is a rear courtyard with garden furniture. Wifi, bed linen, towels and heating are all included. The property does not permit smoking. Check-in is after 3pm and checkout before 10am.
The wider coast holds Craster, Beadnell, Bamburgh and Holy Island within reasonable driving distance, each a different flavour of Northumbrian village life.
