Coach House is a converted Victorian building on the Doxford Estate near Chathill, a few miles from the Northumberland coast. The property sleeps eight across four bedrooms: one with a zip-and-link super king bed (or two singles), one double, and two rooms with single beds. Three bathrooms serve the house—two ensuite showers on the first floor and a bathtub with shower on the landing.
The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, dishwasher, microwave and fridge-freezer, making it straightforward to cook for a group. Downstairs there is a separate utility room with washer-dryer, a living room with woodburner and smart TV, and French doors opening to the garden. Electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wifi are included. The grounds contain a shared play area for children and games room with table football and air hockey; the property itself has a private back garden with seating and a barbecue, plus parking for three cars. Note that there is an unfenced lake within the estate grounds. No smoking is permitted inside.

We recently stayed in Shellrig cottage and were “wowed” by the huge food hamper awaiting us. So welcoming, thank you. Great location for exploring North Northumberland. We recommend boat trip to Farne Islands from Seahouses, Alnwick Gardens, Lindisfarne and Bamburgh Castle. Accommodation good overall apart from minor plumbing issue which has probably been sorted by now.
