Cloister Cottage is a two-bedroom property set within the grounds of Ellingham Hall Estate, a historic setting that draws visitors throughout the year. The cottage itself occupies a quiet corner of the 8-acre estate, surrounded by woodland and landscaped gardens. You get the whole place to yourself, with parking for two cars on site and direct access to the grounds where children can play and wildlife-watching is possible among the trees.

Inside, there are two bedrooms (one double, one with two singles), a bathroom with bath and shower, and a kitchen equipped for proper cooking. Downstairs you'll find a living room with an electric woodburner, a separate dining space, and a utility room with a washing machine. Essentials like electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wifi are covered. The front garden has a seating area, and the wider estate includes a children's play area shared with other properties on site.

Chathill itself is a small village with a pub within easy walking distance. The location works well for exploring Northumberland's coast—Seahouses, Craster and Bamburgh are all within reach, each with their own draw whether that's the Farne Islands, smoked fish, or castles. The A1 is only a couple of miles away. No smoking inside the property.

We stayed here a couple of weeks ago to attend a family wedding at the nearby Ellingham Hall. This is one of the best equipped properties I have ever stayed in. Not only the kitchen but the living room too with a huge variety of books, DVDs and board games available. Upstairs on the landing were many, good quality children's toys. The enclosed, walled garden was a beautiful and peaceful space to relax, indeed the whole village is very peaceful. Within moments of our arrival my daughter declared that she'd love to visit again for a longer stay with her family😀 If you haven't stayed in the area already, you will find many beautiful places to visit: beaches, castles, Holy Island to name but a few; there's lots of tourist information available in the cottage. Do be aware that the nearest supermarkets are a few miles away in Seahouses and Alnwick, there's no village shop, BUT there's a lovely pub at the end of the road😁

We had an excellent stay at Farley Cottage. It was in a great location close to the A1 and the coast. The cottage was spacious, warm and comfortable. We enjoyed returning there after a day exploring. We had everything we needed and we’d love to return.

Fantastic house, everything you need and more. Great for our dogs with the enclosed garden and easy reach to the beaches and towns in Northumberland. Great pub just a 2 minute walk away. All in all a pleasant 3 night stay ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We have just spent a week at Farley cottage, it has been one of the most relaxing holidays we have had in a long time. The cottage is so special with so many extra touches from the wonderful quality toiletries to every kitchen accessory you could ever need. It has extensive DVD and book libraries, an amazing selection of games and toys to keep all the family entertained. Most important to us it's so Dog friendly and has a very dog safe garden. The Pack Horse inn is very friendly and dog's are very welcome. We have booked our next visit.
