🏡 Self-Catering Cottage

Little Barn

Northumberland

Photo: Google Maps

The Northumberland coast draws visitors for its long stretches of sand and dramatic seascapes, and Little Barn sits four miles inland from that shoreline, in open farmland near the hamlet of Tynely. It's a detached cottage sleeping two, with everything on one level: a combined living and dining space, a kitchen with electric cooking and a dishwasher, one bedroom with a kingsize bed, and a shower room. Parking for one car is on site.

The cottage is fully self-contained. Electricity, WiFi, bed linen and towels are included. There's a decked area with garden furniture outside, and a bike store if you want to explore the surrounding lanes. No smoking inside. The water supply comes from a well rather than mains.

Embleton Beach, a broad expanse of sand, is within a few miles; Beadnell Bay, popular with water sports, is five miles away. Seahouses, three or four miles north, has restaurants, tea rooms and a harbour where boat trips to the Farne Islands—known for seals and seabirds—depart regularly. Bamburgh village and its castle lie further up the coast. Alnwick, a market town with shops and restaurants, is about seven miles inland. The property suits couples looking for quiet countryside with easy reach of the coast.
