Kerseycleugh Bridge Cottage
Northumberland
Kielder village and the Northumberland National Park lie within easy reach of Kerseycleugh Bridge Cottage, putting you close to forest trails, water sports, and open moorland. The cottage itself sits on 2 acres of rugged ground with a river running along the far edge, and the patio looks out across the marshes towards the Scottish Borders. This is working wildlife habitat—common newts and water voles inhabit the wetland, and you're likely to spot deer and badgers during your stay.
The cottage is a two-hundred-year-old detached farmworker's cottage that was fully renovated in 2020. It has 3 bedrooms (one kingsize, one double, one with two singles) and 2 bathrooms spread over two floors, sleeping 4 guests. The ground floor holds the main living spaces: a sitting room with a wood burner and 60-inch Smart TV opening onto the patio, and a kitchen with electric oven, induction hob, dishwasher and all the usual equipment. Upstairs are the remaining bedrooms and a bathroom with a roll-top bath. Bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi and heating are included; initial logs for the burner are provided, with more available locally. The enclosed garden and patio come with furniture, and there is parking on site for one car.
The restored interior keeps original features—exposed beams, ledge-and-brace doors, an inglenook fireplace—while meeting modern standards. The cottage does not permit smoking. Check-in is after 15:00 and checkout before 10:00.
