Old Kielder Castle Cottage
Northumberland
Old Kielder Castle Cottage suits couples and small groups wanting to base themselves in Kielder village. Built as a stable in 1775 and converted into a contemporary home, it sits directly across from Kielder Castle with views across an enclosed lawned garden. The whole property is yours alone, with parking for two cars on site.
Inside, everything is on the ground floor: a spacious open-plan living area with a woodburner, dining space and kitchen equipped for proper cooking. There are two bedrooms—one with a kingsize bed and one with a double—and a bathroom with both bath and cubicle shower. Wi-Fi and all essentials including bed linen and towels are provided; heating is underfloor throughout. French doors from the main bedroom and dining area open onto the garden and sitting areas, while a tiered patio at the rear offers quieter space to retreat to.
The area attracts cyclists, walkers and water sports enthusiasts to Kielder Water and Forest Park. The castle opposite houses a visitor centre and café. Stargazers should note the location within Europe's largest dark sky park. One well-behaved pet can stay at no extra cost. No smoking inside; children under 18 are not accommodated.
