The Nest
Northumberland
You arrive at The Nest to find yourself on the ground floor of a single-storey pod, with everything immediately to hand. The open-plan living space contains a Smart TV and kitchen with electric cooking; the bedroom holds a double bed, and the shower room is compact and modern. Underfloor heating keeps things warm, and the essentials—electricity, linen, towels and wifi—are covered in the price. The real draw is outside: a decked area furnished with seating, a firepit and barbecue, with views across the farm's fields towards the sea in the distance.
The Nest sits within an enclosed paddock on a working farm in Northumberland, and you have sole use of the pod and its garden. A hot tub is available to hire for an additional fee per stay. The enclosed grounds mean a quiet setting, though the landscape is open rather than hidden away. The Northumberland coast lies four miles off—Embleton and Beadnell are both within easy reach, and the historic fishing village of Craster is close by, with Seahouses (tea rooms, shops, pubs and restaurants) a short drive north. Boat trips to the Farne Islands depart from Seahouses harbour. The property does not permit smoking.
