Ryecroft Cottage sits within the Northumberland National Park, surrounded by hills, woods and open moorland. The owners maintain a private nature reserve directly opposite, which guests can explore—it's planted with wildflowers and regularly visited by woodpeckers and red squirrels. The cottage itself is a traditional stone building on a single level, recently renovated, with an enclosed garden at front and rear plus a picnic table for outdoor eating.
Inside are two bedrooms (one with a king bed, one with two singles, sleeping four), a bathroom with shower over the bath, and a living space anchored by an open fire. The kitchen is well equipped for proper cooking—electric cooker, dishwasher, microwave and fridge—and there's a washer dryer on hand. Wi-Fi is available throughout. Essentials like bed linen, towels and logs for the fire are included. A lockable bike store and parking for two cars sit on the property.
This works equally well for families, couples or friends wanting to base themselves for walking and nature watching. A pub, restaurant and petrol station with shop are five miles away. The cottage is non-smoking.
