Shorebird Sanctuary
Northumberland
You arrive at Shorebird Sanctuary to find a three-bedroom, two-bathroom house sleeping six in the coastal town of Amble. The layout gives the whole property to yourselves—no shared walls, no other guests. Electricity, bed linen and towels are all included; the essentials are sorted. One well-behaved pet can come too.
The house sits a short walk from Amble's working harbour, where fishing boats still land their catch daily. The marina itself is the main draw here—a genuine working port rather than a polished seafront. From here, you're positioned to explore Northumberland's coast on foot: sandy beaches stretch towards Alnmouth, and the coastal path leads to Dunstanburgh Castle. Craster, known for smoked fish and dramatic clifftop walks, is a short drive. The town has pubs, fish and chip shops, independent cafes, and galleries. No smoking inside the house.
This base works for families, friends travelling together, or anyone wanting to walk from the front door onto the Northumberland coast without fuss.
