The Bunker

Northumberland's landscape of moorland and forest draws stargazers and walkers year-round. The Bunker sits within the National Park, a contemporary lodge designed for groups of up to eight who want everything on one level. Three bedrooms hold a kingsize, another kingsize, and bunks; two bathrooms serve the party. The main living space opens onto decking where a six-person hot tub faces south, usable in any season. Ground-floor layout means no stairs to navigate, and a travel cot and highchair are available if needed.

Inside, the kitchen has what you need to cook: electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge. The living area centres on a 55-inch smart TV with Netflix and Sky; all three bedrooms have their own screens too. Heating is underfloor in the ensuite; the main bathroom has a bath with shower over. One dog travels free. Wi-Fi, electricity, bed linen and towels are included, and there is parking for two cars on site. An on-site restaurant serves evening meals if cooking is not the plan. The village shop lies a mile away, and nearby properties include the wedding venue Le Petit Chateau and Woodhill Hall. Red squirrels and other wildlife are regular visitors to the grounds.
