The Old Drapery Apartments - The Drovers Rest

Northumberland

The Drovers Rest occupies the first floor of a building that once housed a draper's shop in central Haltwhistle. You enter into a bright open-plan space where the living area, kitchen and dining zone flow together—practical if you're a couple who like to cook while staying sociable. The bedroom holds a double bed, and there's a shower room with a cubicle and toilet. A washer-dryer sits in the kitchen alongside an electric oven, hob, microwave and full-sized fridge-freezer, so you can prepare whatever you want to eat. Heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are all included.

Haltwhistle sits at the geographical centre of Britain, on the River South Tyne. Hadrian's Wall runs within two miles, as does the Northumberland National Park. The town centre location means shops, restaurants and cafés are steps away. From here, Kielder Water lies north, the Northumbrian coast and Newcastle east, the northern Pennines to the south, and Scotland within an hour's drive. No smoking indoors.
