The Old Parish Hall
Northumberland
Families and small groups will find The Old Parish Hall works well for a week on the Northumberland coast. This detached house, the former village hall in Seahouses, has been converted into self-catering accommodation spread across two levels. Three bedrooms sleep five: a kingsize, two singles in one room, and a further single. There is one bathroom with a bath and shower, and the ground floor holds the living and dining space, kitchen, and a conservatory that opens to the garden. One dog stays free.
The kitchen is equipped for cooking—oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher and washer-dryer mean you can manage a week without laundry elsewhere. The essentials are included: heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi. There is parking for two cars on site, and the village lies within a gentle walk of tearooms, restaurants, pubs and shops. Seahouses harbour runs boat trips to the Farne Islands, known for seabirds and seal colonies. Bamburgh, two miles north, has a castle and a long sandy beach; Lindisfarne lies visible across the bay. The surrounding area attracts birdwatchers—Budle Bay nearby is a sanctuary, and at low tide the mud flats draw numerous species. Horse riding and golf are both within reach. No smoking inside.
