Willow Cottage is a detached property built on one level, designed with couples in mind. The open-plan living space centres on a wood burner; French doors open to a rear garden where countryside views stretch across the fields. A modern kitchen handles cooking properly, with electric oven and hob, dishwasher and washing machine all there. The bedroom holds a double bed (4ft 6in), and there is an ensuite with shower cubicle.
The cottage sits in Stannington, a small village in Northumberland's rural landscape. Moorhouse Farm Shop & Coffee Shop lies nearby for supplies and a simple meal. The historic town of Morpeth is 4½ miles away, with shops, cafés and pubs in an Edwardian shopping centre. Newcastle Airport is 9½ miles south. A wood burner will keep the place warm—fuel is included—and the essentials like electricity, bed linen, towels and wi-fi are covered as standard. One dog is welcome at no extra cost. Parking for two cars is on site, and wi-fi is provided.
No smoking is allowed. This is a retreat suited to a couple wanting a quiet base within reach of both the county's moors and hills and the practicalities of travel.
