A pub B&B on Market Street in Norwich, handy for drivers with free parking and a short walk from Norwich Castle and Elm Hill.

About The Nags Head

The Nags Head suits anyone who wants a proper pub at the heart of their stay rather than a hotel lobby to pass through. With just four rooms above the bar, it works best for couples or solo travellers visiting Norwich who'd rather eat downstairs than head out again in the evening, and drivers will appreciate the free on-site parking, which isn't a given this close to the centre.

Rooms are comfortable and come with a few thoughtful extras, including Yorkshire Tea and almond milk, plus showers with decent pressure. Downstairs, the restaurant and bar are the main draw, with generous portions and a Sunday roast that regulars return for, alongside pies and burgers. Breakfast is included, and the team running the place are consistently friendly and attentive. Beyond the restaurant, there's a bar, spa and sauna on-site, meeting rooms and business facilities, plus the property doubles as a wedding venue.

Market Street puts you within walking distance of Norwich Castle and Elm Hill, and there's no shortage of other pubs, restaurants and entertainment nearby for evenings out. It's a straightforward base for exploring the city on foot, built around a kitchen and bar that clearly do most of the work.

We spent the night here prior to heading to Snetterton Circuit. A fantastic village pub with really friendly staff and locals. We had already eaten by the time we arrived which was a shame because the meals we saw being served looked so tempting. Our room was just right, very clean and cosy and the bathroom had what I can only describe as the most powerful shower known to man 😅. It was brilliant! We requested a 7am breakfast as we were heading off early and was served by a lovely lady, who cooked us some absolutely delicious food and made freshly ground coffee. Whenever we're in the area we'll definitely look at this place before anywhere else. Thank you Nags Head team.

Lovely nights stay here. Fantastic location, so much to do in the local area. A real hidden gem. The breakfast was OUTSTANDING! Beautiful poached eggs and lovely bacon and sausages. The service from Amanda was warm and welcoming. The rooms have everything you need, clean and comfortable. The shower was very good. Good soundproofing and no sound from outside as we had a room at the back so very good sleep. We ate in the evening there and the food is absolutely delicious. We visited the Zoo, which is one of the best we’ve been to in the uk. Very well maintained. There is also a wonderful distillery only 3 mins away and they do tours and there’s a lovely little meadow walk. Would highly recommend this pub if you are in the area. Hope to return soon x

Whilst on Holiday in East Harling we drank on several occasions and ate on one of these visits. Myself and my Husband both had the pie and my 18 yr old Son had a steak. All three meals arrived hot and were delicious and portion sizes were good. Didn't have deserts as we were all too full. Service was good. There are board games and puzzles that you can play whilst there. Its also dog friendly. We would recommend this place .
