About Nelson & Railway Inn
The Nelson & Railway Inn is a period building with the feel of an old coaching inn, now run as an 11-room hotel on Station Road in Nottingham. Its character comes through in the mix of bar, restaurant and garden space set within what was clearly once a working inn of some standing.
Rooms are comfortable rather than grand, with drinks available in room and the usual practicalities covered: free WiFi, luggage storage and concierge services for anything guests need arranging. Breakfast and dining are both taken care of on site in the restaurant, with a bar for a drink beforehand, and the garden offers a spot to sit outside when the weather allows. The inn also does duty as a wedding venue and has meeting rooms for those combining business with a stay.
Free on-site parking makes it a straightforward base for exploring Nottingham, and there's no shortage of pubs, bars and restaurants within easy reach for evenings out beyond the inn itself.
Guests mention this pub offers a good selection of beers and ciders, along with delicious food, including Sunday dinners and full English breakfasts. They also highlight the comfortable, quiet, and clean rooms, noting the reasonable prices and excellent value. Visitors appreciate the friendly, attentive, and welcoming staff, who create a traditional and inviting atmosphere.
