Our stay in one of the shepherd huts was magical. The view of Rutland water is stunning to wake up to and spend the evening enjoying with the fire pit and BBQ. If you're lucky you'll be joined by wild bunny rabbits. Oakham and the surrounding areas are quaint and lovely to drive through. We did water sports every day nearby, dined multiple times at Hitchens Barn and visited Gates Garden Centre and farm shop as well which was a highlight- fantastic fresh food. The hut itself was in great condition and we made good use of the hot tub at a cooler temperature during the heat wave. Really can't wait til we can come back.

Recently stayed in one of the Shepherds Hut, what a fantastic place this is, the views are so lovely looking out over Rutland Water. Ideal place for cycling the circuit of the reservoir and for bird watching at the reserves, as well as a great place to just relax and enjoy the view. The hut is well equipped and homely, we stayed four nights and would have stayed more! Added bonus of the Hot tub too! Thank you for having such a wonderful place to stay. Would recommend to anyone.

A fantastic 3 night stay in the cabin. Everything was there that we needed, very clean, excellent hot tub. All rounded off with the most fantastic view of Rutland water. Plenty of country walks and things to do in the immediate area. We will be returning. Thank you everyone at Manton Bay for making our stay one of the best

Loved our stay at The Hide, relaxing and peaceful break with beautiful views over Rutland Water. Loved watching the sunset with a glass of wine in the hot tub! Very clean inside the Shepherd Hut and well equipped. The induction hob was fantastic! The welcome gift was a nice touch too. Very spacious area for our dog to roam. Only disappointing part was there was no gas bbq even though there was a gas bottle and the website stated they were provided and on inspection the other Shepherd Huts appeared to have them plus there was no washing up liquid. Expected this to be supplied as a sponge and tea towell was. Overall though this did not spoil our break and we would definitely book again.
