Amazing campsite, lots of beautiful spots to pitch, especially if you choosing non electric pitch. Great facilities - very clean. Beautiful walks around and not far from Rutland water sailing and golf club. Just would like to suggest to the owner, to put a little bin under the dishwashing sinks for food waste. Otherwise people leave their food leftovers in the sinks, as there nowhere to throw them away. I end up every time to clean sinks first, before start washing my pots.other than that-Luxury camping 🏕

Went to stay at Lyndon top for 2 nights on Sunday in our tent box and was welcomed by a lovely lady. We had the choice of where we pitched up as we wasn’t on an electric pitch. The spaces were huge and the selection of pitches that still had a lovely view was countless. A lovely campsite and not forgetting the facilities, they were so clean every time we went in there and they were so modern. The walks around the area we great!! We cannot wait to book our next trip here again Thankyou to the hosts😊🏕️

Just stayed for 2 nights Fri-Sun 26th July as a family of 4 + a large dog. Wasn't sure what to expect as booked at the start of the year having found the site via Google search and seen it was only due to open in late June. It did not disappoint! Check in was smooth & easy - staff greet you on arrival when you drive in so no need to go into reception, they come out to you which was nice and easy. Could pick wherever we wanted to pitch up. Arrived nice & early around 10amish - like the fact you could arrive from 0900 and on departure day can stay until 1800 if you want which is excellent. The site itself is huge & very well maintained. Multiple massive fields to pitch in, one dedicated to hook up. Beautiful views onto Rutland Water or quieter spots in the back field towards trees/hedges. We camped facing towards the lake for the views. Water points frequently located around the site. Wind was a slight issue in the field lake facing - we ended up taking our event shelter down as it was getting hammered from all angles so something to consider if weather is due to be windy when you visit. Shade also limited apart from hedgeline next to the gravel road. Only one facility onsite for washing up dishes/toilets & showers. However the block is huge, plenty big enough and is centrally located. Both sides of building have wash up/toilets/showers. They kept one side shut then opened the other side at various points during our stay for cleaning. The facilities are brand new and one word...luxurious! Hands down the best toilets/shower/washing up we've ever used camping. Thoughtful design & top spec. 5/5 for cleanliness- not once did we see a dirty toilet or shower. Very well maintained by staff and in early at 0700 replenishing toilet roll etc. The only thing I will say is no baby changing station but we just changed our little boy at the tent so it didn't really matter, they may well still be working on this due to it being so new. I believe you can also pay extra to book a private family wash facility but not sure you'd need to fork out extra as the toilets were immaculate as is - showers warm & rain style - very nice! Plus hair dryers (free) and automatic hand dryers / taps. Clearly a lot spent on the finish and they're looking after it well. Camp warden came around at multiple points as it got darker. Some louder residences did reduce their speakers/noise levels after a word from the warden - so fair play to the staff for enforcing the rules as family with a 19 month old we appreciated it due to children going to bed early. One recycling/waste area on site located towards entrance. Bit of a walk as we were located the other end, also a walk if you choose to go around outer perimeter in any of the fields to pitch. But imagine this will be work in progress as roads/paths all new so expect it'll grow as the site grows. Multiple paths from site lead onto the main circular rutland route or surroundings villages. Ideal for bikes but longer walktimes for families with smaller kids like ours, though you'd probably be okay in milder conditions as it was very hot during our stay. Site could do with a nature trial or kids playground being built. A small shop wouldn't go amiss either. Around 10minsish drive to Oakham for supermarkets etc. Would have been handy to have a small shop for fresh good or forgotten toiletries for example. Overall a beautiful site close by to local attractions and top notch facilities - would 100% recommend & looking to book again already.
