About Taychreggan Signature Collection by Eight Continents

Ben Lui rises within reach of Kilchrenan, and the village of Taynuilt lies nearby too, making Taychreggan Signature Collection by Eight Continents a useful base for exploring this stretch of Argyll and Bute, with Oban itself not far beyond. The hotel's setting on Loch Awe is the main draw for many, offering a quiet spot away from the busier roads with water views from much of the grounds.

There are 18 rooms, generally described as comfortable and cosy rather than grand, and the on-site restaurant serves food that guests rate highly, along with a well-regarded cocktail selection. Breakfast is included, and free WiFi, a garden, meeting rooms and free on-site parking round out the practical side. Pets are welcome, which suits those travelling with dogs for walking country like this.

Staff are consistently mentioned as attentive and willing to go beyond the basics, and the hotel also caters for events including weddings, with scope to tailor arrangements. It works well as a relaxed retreat by the loch, with Taynuilt and Ben Lui among the reasons to venture out during a stay.

On the banks of Loch Awe, the entrance is through a beautiful narrow road arched by trees, along the loch! Some rooms overlook the lake and other the backyard. It has a tv room, a billiard room, game room, fireplace , a bar, restaurant. The lake is accessible just outside. Places to sit in front of the lake. Rooms are spacious! Food was great! We tried some cocktails which were very good too! We had dinner with a lake view. Certainly coming back for more days!

We stayed at Taychreggan for our wedding night after an elopement and it was lovely. The views were beautiful and the rooms clean and tidy. The real standout for us from our stay was the food! It was amazing and we still say it was the highlight of the wedding day. We had the 5 course tasting menu prepared by the chef, in a private area to dine by ourselves with a view of the loch. The service was great and the hosts attentive throughout our stay. Highly recommend

Where do we start, from the minute we arrived at the property to the minute we left we were treated exceptionally. The staff were all absolutely wonderful, however I would like to give a shout out to Stuart - what a gem he is! We went for my birthday (and got proposed to also) and the views, surrounding walks, location and experience will all remain with me for a very long time. We have now vowed to come back every year. What an absolute hidden beauty. Can't fault anything at all 🧡👌
