What visitors say
Well worth the climb up to the museum from the seafront at Douglas. The museum is a hidden gem. Free entry (donations encouraged). The 20 minute introductory film is well worth a watch. There are lots of galleries documenting the history of the Isle of Man and they are very well laid out with great documentation and handy sound commentaries. The TT gallery was a highlight for us. There is also a fascinating art gallery featuring local artists. It is easy to spend quite a lot of time here. Plenty for kids too.

nice museum - bigger than we expected - with a lot of cool stuff (swords, motorcycles, tombstones, etc) in it... the walk up the hill is short but steep... donations accepted, but no mandatory fee... pretty great...

This is a comprehensive attraction with entry by discretional donation. Let's face it all 'free' entry local heritage sites deserve a descent donation to help their costs especially in 2026 ! A warm welcome received on entry and a clear explanation of layout and recommended route round the site. This site includes a dedicated floor for the Isle of Man TT race heritage collection. Well worth the trip downstairs or by lift. The site is accessible. History and heritage, natural history and geological information gives a very rounded explanation of how the island was formed and inhabited over millennia. The timespan goes from creation to the present day. This is well worth the visit and it's recommended for walking entry to take the lift up to the multi story parking below the museum. There is limited car parking access near the entrance

A second visit to this lovely museum. Last year we did the whole museum. This year we popped in to see the miners exhibition. Whilst there we looked at the art gallery and took in a short film about Manx History. A free museum, but please leave a donation and pop to the gift shop.
