Relaxed, spacious, family friendly camping in the New Forest, 'wildish' camping with proper facilities.

About Shelley Oaks Farm Campsite

Shelley Oaks Farm Campsite offers a refreshing take on New Forest camping—spacious, unfussy pitches with a pleasantly wild edge but proper facilities where they count. Families appreciate the relaxed atmosphere and generous pitch sizes, giving children room to roam without the regimented feel of larger sites. Hot showers and clean toilets keep things comfortable, and there's drinking water on tap, though you'll need to plan around the lack of chemical disposal points.

The location just outside Ower puts you within easy reach of New Forest walks and Hampshire's south coast attractions, making it a practical base for exploring the region. While dogs aren't permitted, the trade-off is a quieter environment that works well for young families. It's camping that feels genuinely outdoorsy without sacrificing the essentials—ideal if you want space and simplicity rather than endless amenities.

We had the best time at Shelley Oaks Farm & Campsite We stayed for 4 nights and would definitely go back. The first thing we noticed was the generous space at each pitch. The campsite is set on a large field, allowing for ample room between pitches, which gives you a sense of privacy while still enjoying the open landscape. The fire pit in the evenings was a highlight for us, providing the perfect setting for cozy, memorable nights under the stars. It's also a fantastic spot for families. The central area is perfect for kids to run around and play, and there's even a small wooded area where they can explore safely. The campsite's small size means you don't have to worry about traffic, allowing the little ones to roam freely. Feeding the pigs was a fun and unique experience that everyone loved. Although the pitches don't have electricity, the site provides a fridge and charging point. The toilet block is new and exceptionally clean, with all the essentials, including a family bathroom. And if you need anything else, Caroline is there to help. She emailed us a a list of activities to do around the area over that week and there's a list of nice walks not far from the campsite. She also knows the best spots for ice cream. The campsite's location is perfect for exploring the New Forest, with plenty of walks nearby. The only downside is the occasional road noise due to its proximity to the main road, but this was a minor inconvenience in an otherwise great setting. Overall, our stay at Shelley Oaks Farm & Campsite was everything we hoped for and more. We can't wait to return and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxed, family-friendly, nature focused, camping experience.

We have just returned from a wonderful mini break and Shelley Oaks Campsite, and would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone. The space between pitches is huge, so despite having neighbours, we didn't feel at all overlooked or cramped. The site is tucked away from the main road, and although you can hear it sometimes, it's really not at all intrusive. The toilet and shower block is great! Immaculate at all times of day and night, with plenty of hot water and two sinks for washing up dishes etc. The fridge freezer and phone charging point is a plus too. Being just outside of the new forest has the bonus of BBQ's and fire pits, while everything within thew new forest is easily reachable. The host, Caroline, was very helpful and friendly. No pressure to get up and out on departure day, in fact a text was received in the morning, to that effect! Zero stress, just what you need on a holiday. We would definitely come again, if we're in the area. Gareth, Laura and Euan

Lovely campsite in a beautiful setting. There's lots of space between pitches, and ours had a fire pit. There's a football area for kids and all the little extras you could need. We had a great stay.

Great stay. Tidy no-frills site and clean-modern toilet/shower block. Well spaced plots. Convenient location, but expect some road noise as near to A36.
