About Marlborough House Hotel - B&B

Marlborough House Hotel - B&B suits visitors who want a bit of independence without giving up the comforts of a proper bed and breakfast, whether that's a family trip, a driving holiday, or a stay where cooking your own meals now and then matters. Rooms come with well-equipped kitchenettes, including a fridge and microwave, alongside en-suite bathrooms and free WiFi, and the place is kept spotlessly clean throughout.

Beyond the rooms, there's a garden and outdoor seating for relaxing, a snack bar, and room service if you'd rather not head out. Childcare is available too, which helps for families juggling a busy Oxford itinerary.

This property is about 2 miles outside Oxford, on a bus route. The property itself is well maintained, there is ample parking outside on the premises. The room (no 4) was spotlessly clean and roomy. It had twin beds, table and chairs, storage(wardrobe and drawers), TV and a bathroom with overhead shower in the bath, sink and toilet. Towels and toiletries were supplied. The kitchenette had a sink and drainer, kettle, fridge, cutlery and plates for 2, and tea towel and soap were also provided. There was coffee and tea provided and a chargeable minibar containing soft drinks and snacks. A continental breakfast could also be ordered in, but we self catered. The owner/landlady was friendly and helpful. We asked her to sort out the bathroom heating and it was done when we returned later in the day. Our only problem was the Bath/shower. My friend is older and felt that a non slip bath mat and grab rail would have helped her to feel more secure, but we forgot to mention this at the time. We intend to return to the area again and hope to stay again at Marlborough House Hotel.

Stayed here for a weekend family trip and absolutely loved it! The neighborhood is quiet, and there’s a bus stop to town right next to us! Our room had everything we needed, having a fridge and microwave was such a bonus. We arrived late, but the self check-in was super easy. Highly recommend!

The staff are so lovely and friendly, and the beds are very comfortable! Also a nice distance from the city centre and university, about a 45 minute walk down to the main shops. I've stayed here twice, and definitely will stay again next time I come to Oxford!

Room was clean although there were a couple of small stains on the outside bedding. Beds were comfortable and bathroom sufficient. Two big issues for me, its December and they dont put the heating on till after 5pm and the room was cold and took several hours for the small radiator to work and I mean several hours, like 6 and the bathroom never warmed up. The second issue was we pre-ordered breakfast, just dont, they have no kitchen and basically they put a selection of cereals on the table, some fruit and yogurt in the fridge with some OJ. if you want breakfast go to a local coffee shop. Finally and these are two things that are self inflicted, first they have a small and I mean small TV in the room from the bed one needs binoculars to watch it and finally they tell you at every stage if you stray outside of the rules they charge, checking in before 2, leaving after 10, parking outside of these hours, breathing wrong they need to relax step back and remember we have choices and there is competition. For me better off staying at the Courtyard by Marriott better value, cheaper, they have proper TVs you can actually watch and they do breakfast a proper cooked breakfast.
