About Cilrath Wood Camping

Tucked into ancient woodland near Narberth, Cilrath Wood Camping offers a choice between sheltered forest-floor pitches beneath the canopy and open meadow spots where the light pours in. Campfires are encouraged, and the site's simple, well-kept facilities – showers, toilets, drinking water – keep things comfortable without cluttering the natural feel. The 4.9 rating reflects warm feedback about the peaceful setting and helpful hosts, though a few visitors note that campervan pitches on gravel can feel less scenic than the woodland camping areas.

With just eleven tent pitches and four hardstanding spots for campervans, Cilrath Wood stays intentionally small and unhurried. It's family-friendly but doesn't allow pets, so the atmosphere remains calm. A straightforward, campfire-friendly base for exploring Pembrokeshire's coast and countryside.

Absolutely wonderful campsite! We stayed in a woodland pitch and with the bluebells still out it was beautiful- one of the best sites we’ve stayed at. Toilets were clean, Pete aka ‘grumpy farmer’ very welcoming, there are undercover areas if it rains and there are also fire pits at each pitch if you want to buy wood too. Lovely walks nearby, and not too far to access the coast. We liked that is wasn’t a huge site so it didn’t feel cramped. Such a special site!

Amazing camp site, great facilities and location. We spent a wonderful week here and could have happily stayed longer. Very quiet and peaceful with a lake and woodland to explore on site with plenty of space for the children to play and not too far from a number of incredible beaches.

My wife and I recently spend 3 nights at the start of May. We arrived a little later to avoid putting our tent up in the pouring rain. What a BEAUTIFUL site and friendly and supportive people who run it. The site is beautiful. It's really well laid our with excellent flat pitches and enough space between the pitches to give you enough privacy. The meadow and woodland spaces are equally attractive and we took full advantage of the firepits in the evening. A couple of things to note: The toilets are great. Centrally located, clean and effective compost toilets - also an ingenious set up for the urinal. Good clean/warm showers Amazing communal spaces - the parachute is a beautiful spot and I would imagine being here with a few friends and families would be a beautiful experience. Narberth is an easy walk (30mins) and it is lovely little town with a good selection of shops, pubs and restaurants. Recommended if you want to be more conscious about your footprint and be central in Pembrokeshire. Highly recommended as a central place to visit the north, west and south coasts.

We spent one night in on of the woodland pitches over the Bank Holiday weekend and it was everything we needed. Beautiful grounds (we wandered the site and all pitches have a lot of space depending on your needs), secluded and peaceful, and no hassle getting from the car to the pitch. The Grumpy Farmer (the kindest man!!!) was incredibly accommodating and showed us to the pitch after meeting us, and checked in on us as it was a very rainy night. We were able to start a fire in the pit under the shelter and we were very warm on a wet and slightly chilly evening. Fire wood, fire starters and fresh eggs can be purchased on site. There are fire bowls and wooden table and chairs for every pitch. The compostable toilet was super clean and the hot shower was so good in the morning - we felt like we’d been glamping! There’s also a shared space to keep/prepare food, and sinks to wash your hand and brush your teeth in. Lots of fresh water spots too! The dawn chorus (our favourite part of camping) was so beautiful and waking up surrounded by bluebells was something out of a fairy tale!!! Truly a haven and we wish we had stayed longer. We’ll be back for a week next time! Don’t miss out, this really is a special site run by kind people who love their land & the nature that runs wild in it. - Hannah & Joe
