About The Stackpole Inn

The Stackpole Inn is a stone village pub at Jasons Corner in Stackpole, a few miles south of Pembroke and inside the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. It works primarily as a dining pub with a strong local following, with bed and breakfast rooms attached rather than the other way round, so the atmosphere in the evening is that of a busy village local.

Accommodation is limited to four king-size en-suite rooms arranged over two levels in a separate part of the building. The two ground-floor rooms have pull-out sofa beds and can sleep up to four, which makes them workable for families; the two upstairs rooms can be made up as twins on request. All are contemporary in style, with good showers, tea and coffee, wi-fi and blackout curtains. A cooked Welsh breakfast is included. Dogs are welcome in the bar but not in the bedrooms.

The kitchen has won a string of local awards and concentrates on Pembrokeshire produce, with crab and lobster landed nearby, Welsh beef and lamb, and a good range of vegetarian dishes. Lunch and dinner are served Monday to Saturday with roasts on Sunday, and the bar keeps several Welsh cask ales. Booking a table is sensible in summer even if you are staying.

The setting is the strongest argument for staying here. Barafundle Bay, regularly named among Britain's best beaches, is a walk of about twenty-five minutes across the Stackpole Estate, and the Bosherston lily ponds, Broad Haven South and the cliffs at Stack Rocks are all within a few miles. A two-night minimum applies in July and August. It suits walkers, beach visitors and couples who would rather stay somewhere small and local than in a hotel.

We stayed for a night recently and had a great time. The room was very spacious, although ever so slightly hot without Aircon. The staff were incredible throughout our stay. We had dinner there in the evening sharing a few of the starters / small plates. Was all great value. Food was very tasty - especially the tandoori monkfish, needed finishing with a little Maldon salt to finish it off. Not the dessert though, the chocolate pot was incredible! Would highly recommend. Great time overall. Hope to be back.

Whilst on holiday, we came here for food one evening. Service was very friendly and helpful with helping us choose from the menu due to some food intolerances. Our meals were amazing, well worth the price. Would definitely return. Great choice of gluten free foods
