Dalbeathie Cottage
Perth and Kinross
Dalbeathie Cottage sits within an 8-acre estate that rises above the northern bank of the River Tay, a few miles east of Dunkeld. The grounds contain orchards, meadows, woodland and a sunken bowling lawn; gates lead directly onto the Murthy Estate and down to the riverbank. The cottage itself is detached, with an enclosed garden, parking for two cars, and the essentials—heating, electricity, wi-fi and bed linen—all included.
Inside, there are two bedrooms (one king, one with twin singles) and two bathrooms. The kitchen has an Aga, dishwasher and all the usual kit for self-catering. Downstairs, a sitting room with a multi-fuel burner opens onto the garden and patio. A utility room with washer and tumble dryer completes the ground floor. The property has spiral stairs that are steep and narrow. One dog is welcome.
Dunkeld is 2½ miles away with restaurants, pubs and shops. This suits people after a Highland retreat with river access and room to roam the grounds, rather than a town base. The cottage does not accommodate children under six, and smoking is not permitted.
