About The Lovat Hotel

Travellers after a no-fuss stay in Perth, rather than boutique polish, will find The Lovat Hotel does the practical things well. Set on Glasgow Road, it puts guests within reach of the city's transport links and attractions while offering free on-site parking, useful for anyone arriving by car or breaking up a longer journey.

Rooms come with air conditioning and drinks, and the wider hotel includes a restaurant, bar, gym, and a spa with sauna, plus an indoor swimming pool for guests who want to unwind without leaving the building. Breakfast and free WiFi are included, and there's a lift, laundry service, and porter and concierge support for those wanting a bit more looked after. It's worth knowing that some rooms have been reported as dated and in need of updating, so this suits guests prioritising service and location over fresh decor.

The restaurant has a strong reputation among guests, and staff are frequently singled out for friendliness and efficient service, which helps offset the more tired aspects of the rooms. With pubs, restaurants, and entertainment nearby, plus facilities for business travellers and even weddings, The Lovat Hotel works as a straightforward, well-located option for exploring Perth.

The staff here were excellent. Couldn't be more helpful. Rooms are basic but do the basic right. The decor is well thought out. Loved the elephants. Only issue was a non working plug that they going to chase up. Ideal for an overnight stay on route somewhere north!

I'm writing this review on behalf of two friends who stayed here for what was meant to be a lovely wedding weekend. Unfortunately, their stay was overshadowed by a series of problems that significantly affected their experience. More than a month later, they are still waiting for any meaningful resolution, refund, or compensation despite raising these issues with the hotel repeatedly. The lack of customer service and follow-up has been extremely disappointing and has only added to their frustration. Would not recommend staying here.

Honestly if I could give it no stars, I would. Absolutely awful from the minute I walked in. Haven’t had the opportunity yet to post a review but felt it necessary to come and make one. The lady on the desk was so rude. Very unhelpful. Put me in a room at the top of the stairs with a pram and a suitcase having traveled nearly 300 miles to Perth. Room was filthy wouldn’t let a dog sleep in it. Staff were as inconvenienced as I was being there. The only help they eventually provided was ringing me a taxi when I refused to stay there. Only offered me a different room when I’d already complained to booking.com and paid £200 for a hotel elsewhere. Did not stay either of the nights I paid for. Was not given a refund. No accessibility at all had to carry pram up the stairs to entrance and up a large flight of stairs to the room and back down again after seeing the state of it. Had to leave my son at the bottom of the stairs to take his pram down them. Absolutely vile. Manager rang me the next day after I’d slept in my other hotel and said I could get a refund but told booking.com a refund wasn’t authorised. Pathetic from start to finish

If you need a budget-friendly, no-frills stay near the center of Perth, The Lovat Hotel does the job. It’s an older property that is definitely showing its age, but it wins major points for practicality. Lots of free parking and a bus stop near by to the centre. Room was on the small side but it had tea and coffee facilities and complimentary toiletries. Kayleigh on reception was very helpful, looking up bus times for us and offered a discount in the restaurant if we chose to dine there.
