Scone Camping and Caravanning Club Site

Scone, Palace Caravan Park, Tayside, Perth PH2 6BB, UK

Established club site two miles from Perth, beside Scone Palace

About Scone Camping and Caravanning Club Site

This well-kept Camping and Caravanning Club site sits on the edge of Scone village, barely two miles from the centre of Perth and an easy walk from the gates of Scone Palace. The level grounds offer a mix of grass and hardstanding pitches beneath mature trees that provide shelter without feeling oppressive, and there's a good range of options including super-service hardstandings and a few camping pods for those travelling without their own kit.

Facilities cover the essentials you'd expect from a club site: clean shower blocks, laundry, a small shop and a children's play area. Electric hook-up is available on most pitches, and dogs are welcome throughout. Some visitors note that parts of the site can feel a little dated, but the location more than compensates—close enough to Perth for an evening at the theatre or dinner on Tay Street, yet surrounded by greenery and birdsong once you're back at the pitch. Scone village itself has a shop and a couple of pubs within walking distance, and the wider Perthshire countryside opens up quickly to the north.

Super friendly host and a lovely site to stay on, they have the absolute best showers!! Dog friendly with access to walk around the neighbouring racecourse too. Restaurant/bar just outside the entrance. Very clean throughout and quiet overnight, some traffic noise but that's to be expected given it's convenient location just off the main road. Would absolutely stay again, all hard standing and no mud. Perfectly maintained.

A perfect wee camp site with great facilities and very well kept areas both inside and out. Staff very friendly and helpfull. However, this camp site is a little isolated and if not keen on walking you need to drive to get to shops ect. A nice restaurant next to the camp site that offers a range of breakfast, lunch (not bogbportions) and dinner eith a good range of drinks. If my next visit i was in 'transit' i would return. We did walk i into Perth and enjoyed a wee dram! 🥃🥃 👍🤞🤣

The site itself is well maintained, peaceful, and ideally located for our needs. However, having travelled a considerable distance from Northern Ireland, our experience was significantly affected by the attitude and approach of Graeme and Julie. Prior to our arrival, a friend attempted to check in on our behalf but was refused. We were subsequently advised by Graeme, "If you're not here by 8.30pm, don't bother turning up," despite the site's published Access Statement stating that arrivals between 8:00pm and 11:00pm would be provided with instructions at Reception. When I later raised this discrepancy, the Access Statement was initially dismissed as incorrect and only acknowledged after I produced a copy. Even then, no satisfactory explanation was given for the contradiction between the published guidance and the advice we had received. This inconsistency caused significant confusion and unnecessary stress that could have been avoided. As a result, my wife, who was 35 weeks pregnant, and I were left without accommodation and forced to find an alternative place to stay at short notice. When I raised these concerns the following day, I felt the focus was on justifying the decision rather than acknowledging its impact, with Graeme stating that he "could not understand our frustration." Despite the contradiction between the advice provided by staff and the site's own published Access Statement, our request for a refund was refused and met with laughter, which I found both disappointing and unprofessional given the circumstances. What should have been a straightforward and enjoyable stay became an unnecessarily stressful experience. Whilst the facilities and location were excellent, the customer service we received left a very disappointing first impression of the Camping and Caravanning Club.

Great site next to the racecourse. Dog walks around racecourse on none racecourse days and walks along the river Tay. Beautiful level well spaced pitches and we'll kept clean excellent facility block. Easy access off A9 along new road to the racecourse and beyond. Excellent all round site and really friendly managers.
