About The New Inn and Cropton Brewery Campsite
Tucked in the village of Cropton on the edge of the North York Moors, this back-to-basics campsite offers simple grass pitches beneath sheltering trees – with the considerable bonus of an award-winning brewery and pub just steps away. Forget fiddling with camping stoves at dawn: hearty breakfasts, home-cooked pies and roasts are served throughout the day, and the on-site Cropton Brewery produces a fine selection of local beers you can sample in the bar or garden. Brewery tours can be arranged on arrival if you fancy going behind the scenes.
Facilities are deliberately minimal – toilets and drinking water, but no showers or electric hook-ups – so pack torches for navigating back to your pitch after an evening sampling the ales. Barbecues are allowed if you prefer to self-cater, and dogs are welcome. It's a no-frills setup, but the friendly staff, excellent value and that unbeatable combination of wild moorland walks and proper pub hospitality more than make up for it.

Such a nice couple of nights away. Got an excellent two night dinner, bed and breakfast deal in a dog friendly room. Rooms comfy, pies amazing (other options are available of course! 😁) breakfasts really good, and beers from their own microbrewery. What's not to like. All the staff are really friendly and helpful and loads of places in the North Yorks Moors nearby. Good to take a walk down to Sinnington for a pint and lunch there.

The staff were friendly and accommodating during check-in, which was the only positive aspect of our stay. The rooms were very dirty, and we found several long hairs throughout the room. The tea cups and glasses also had a very unpleasant smell. The restaurant had a live band playing until 11:00 p.m., which made it impossible for us to sleep before then. Breakfast was the worst part of the experience. We were the first table to be seated, but we were not offered tea or coffee until about 15 minutes later. We then waited another 40 minutes before anyone came to take our order. By that point, we had to leave for an early flight. There were only five tables in the restaurant, and none of them had been served or even had their orders taken by the time we left. Perhaps this place is suitable as a pub for drinks and food, but I would avoid staying here at all costs. The property is old, very dirty, and poorly managed as an inn.

Had a lovely stay in a picturesque setting. Good beer garden, great breakfast, enjoyed the local ale and had some enjoyable walks around the village. Staff were friendly.
