About Vale View Caravan and Camping Park

Vale View Caravan and Camping Park offers a straightforward, no-frills pitch near Pickering—ideal if you're after a proper back-to-basics escape. Campfires are allowed, dogs are welcome, and there's electric hook-up if you need it, but don't expect showers or toilets on site, so you'll need to be fully self-contained. It's open year-round and the relaxed, unfussy atmosphere suits those who prefer peace and simplicity over polished facilities.

The location works well for exploring the North York Moors and the market town of Pickering itself, with its steam railway and medieval castle. If you're comfortable with a more rustic setup and want freedom without frills, it's a solid, wallet-friendly choice.

We had a really enjoyable stay at Vale of Pickering. The campsite is really well looked after, with spacious pitches and clean facilities that were kept spotless throughout our stay. Everyone we spoke to was friendly and welcoming, which made for a great atmosphere. The location is perfect for exploring North Yorkshire, with plenty of places to visit just a short drive away. The onsite shop was really handy, and we also tried the pizza night at the café. We had pizza and chips, and they were both excellent and great value for money. One of the highlights for us was the huge open field, complete with football goals, which is perfect for kids and adults wanting a kick about or other ball games. We also watched the sunset from there every evening, and the views were absolutely stunning. Overall, it’s a fantastic campsite with great facilities, a relaxed atmosphere, and everything you need for a comfortable stay. We’d happily come back and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a great base to explore North Yorkshire.

Beautiful location. Spotlessly clean site and facilities. Friendly, helpful and welcoming staff. Well stocked onsite shop. The Oakwood cafe is absolutely fab. We ate in on pizza night, and they were gorgeous, plenty of toppings and they tested fab. We will definitely be back to stay here and eat in the Oakwood Cafe. 😍

Absolutely fantastic place. Family of five, age 12 6 and 1. Cant go wrong, perfect location, goathland, whitby, Scarborough, falling foss waterfall, damby forest. Kids loved camping. Facilities were immaculate and a bath for the baby, microwave and hair dryers. Park was lovely for when we got back after a day out, felt very safe and looked after. Staff cant do enough and work so hard to maintain the site. We cant wait to come back! My only suggestion would be to have more electric hook ups as 4 pitches for a big site doesn't seem enough when I imagine demand is high. But not a complaint more of a compliment as we like to book last minute and there always booked up 🤣 (cant camp without my air fryer)
