What visitors say
Fabulous day out. Lots to see and do. Lots of freebies food and drink. Well worth the entrance ticket money. Hopefully next year the road works near the showground will be complete. Well done to all who organized, set up and contributed.

Having attended the Cheshire Show in previous years, we found today’s experience to be an extreme disappointment. For an entry fee on the gate of £37.50 per adult, the standard of organisation and basic facilities fell far below acceptable levels. Our concerns include: Logistical failures: The traffic management was grossly inadequate. We encountered a closed route, gridlocked lanes in poor repair, and inadequate signage, leading to significant delays even upon reaching the site. Declining content: The variety of exhibits was noticeably reduced this year. The main and countryside arenas suffered from repetitive programming, and poor audio quality, exacerbated by distorted background music which made the commentary during displays (such as the motorbikes) unintelligible. Poor infrastructure: Several marquees, particularly the Craft tent, were undersized and very congested, with a complete lack of adequate ventilation. Inflationary food prices: The cost of basic refreshments was staggering. Paying exorbitant prices for simple snacks, drinks, and ice creams, on top of the high entry fees, made the event feel like a rip-off for the average visitor and families. Public health & hygiene: Most concerningly, at least four sets of portacabin toilets in two different areas were in an appalling state from early morning. With no water for flushing or handwashing, the stench and lack of hygiene were unacceptable for a large-scale public event. Exit management: Like many others, we chose to leave early in the afternoon and to beat the inevitable traffic jams later. Even then, the parking area in which we had parked (Pickmere) lacked basic demarcation, leaving many visitors unable to easily locate their vehicles. At these prices, visitors expect a premium experience; instead, we encountered a poorly managed, lacklustre event that failed on the most basic levels of hospitality and hygiene. We certainly will not be returning.

The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming, and it was nice to see families and people of all ages enjoying the event. It was a great opportunity to experience local traditions, support local businesses, and spend time outdoors. I would happily visit the Royal Cheshire Show again in the future ❤️
