What visitors say
Portreath Beach is a classic, sandy North Cornwall cove popular with families, swimmers, and surfers. It features a tidal swimming pool, dramatic cliffs, and an infamous reef break known as "the Vortex" for experienced bodyboarders. The beach has a large, convenient car park right by the sand.

Its a nice beach, with parking next to it. There are a few visible caves. There's also a cliff edge with good views.. The sand is indeed golden, but its quite stoney and pebbles are everywhere. It wouldn't be what I'd consider a sand castle beach, however its great for a quick dip or dog walk.
