About Uig Hotel
For those touring Skye at a gentler pace, Uig Hotel makes a sound base, whether you're breaking a ferry journey, exploring on foot, or travelling with a dog in tow. It's a nine-room hotel in Uig, near Portree, with free on-site parking and free WiFi throughout, and it suits guests who'd rather spend their evening over a good meal than hunting for one elsewhere.
Rooms are en-suite, comfortable and generally spacious, with several looking out over the bay. The restaurant and bar downstairs are a genuine draw, with a menu that runs to haggis and fresh seafood, and breakfast is included to set guests up for a day on the island. Staff run a 24 hour reception and are known for being helpful and accommodating, which counts for a lot in a small hotel like this.
Pets are welcome, and fishing can be arranged nearby, with further restaurants and eateries a short distance away in the area. It's a straightforward, well-run hotel rather than a luxury retreat, and it's generally reckoned to offer good value for what's included.

What guests say
A place to be, a place to return. I stayed in the single room on the first floor. Room starts to get slightly outdated, the floor not 100% flat, but it has certainly its charms. And nice few on the bay. All staff members very friendly, very polite and helpful. They are part of the good vibe and the charm. Food is good, twice i had fish. Breakfast has extra options: choose from menu and there is an additional buffet Location: yes it is up North on Isle of Skye. But closeby wonderful nature hiking. Everything together: staying at Uig hotel is relaxed.

We ate at the restaurant last night. The young lady on reception managed to squeeze us in for an early evening booking as the restaurant was booked up later, thank you. What a treat, the service was excellent, didnt get the waiters name, young man, thank you. The food was truly delicious. Hubby had wild mushroom bruschetta for starters, amazing. I then had the haddock and chips, wow, the fish was so fresh and cooked just how I love and all served on a hot plate, thank you. Hubby had the burger with pancetta, it was so delicious and again the quality of ingredients was top class. We love Uig, but love it even more after this visit. We sat outside with our drinks afterwards, the sun was shining and the view overlooking the harbour was perfect 👌. What a find, the food and staff were excellent. If I could score higher, I would 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

We went solely for a meal and what a meal we had! We were so grateful to our b&b host for advising us to book, which we did well in advance. It is the only place open in Uig on a Sunday evening. Make sure you book an evening meal well before you travel. Everywhere gets booked up in the week, there are only three in Uig and two of those weren't open on Sunday evening. So, we booked at the Uig Hotel and boy was the food excellent! the service was excellent too and the price was very reasonable, especially considering the superb quality of the ingredients and the skill of the chef. We thoroughly recommend the restaurant to you and I'm sure the hotel services will be just as good. Our thanks and compliments to all staff who were on duty on 12th July, you were great!

We stopped for lunch and it was well worth the stop. We had a steak ciabatta, seafood chowder and steamed muscles and they were all exceptional. Everyone enjoyed our meal and the service was spectacular
