About Uig Lodge

Built as a coaching inn in 1831, Uig Lodge has kept its low-key, unfussy character while offering guests a comfortable base on the Isle of Lewis. Rooms are simple and en-suite, with family rooms available and drinks provided in-room, making it a straightforward option for those touring Uig without wanting anything showy.

The on-site restaurant and bar are a focal point, with the bar stocking a good range of local whiskies and ales alongside a proper breakfast to start the day. Outside, there's a garden and outdoor seating to make the most of the setting, and the lodge welcomes dogs, useful for anyone travelling with a pet along this stretch of coast.

Ardroil Beach lies around two and a half miles away, and the surrounding area is well suited to walking and cycling, with fishing and golf also within reach nearby. Further pubs, restaurants and entertainment can be found close by too, and reception operates around the clock for guests coming and going at odd hours.

The best hotel in the Highlands! The room was very comfortable. Located in a quaint northern Peninsula of sky. I enjoyed staying here much more than Portree. The staff was wonderful, and the prices weren’t bad at the restaurant and bar.

Lovely place to stay. Rooms and bathrooms very spacious compared to the hotel. The meals were amazing. We had both dinner and breakfast. Highly recommend. Just know that you need to book well in advance for rooms.

This was a very special occasion for me. My mother said her favourite place in the world was the Isle of Skye so this was a bit of a pilgrimage to visit the nearby Idrigal Viewpoint to scatter her ashes. Uig Lodge was the perfect place to stay for this occasion. The accommodation was beautiful (ask for a room way up the back on the hillside with a view) the restaurant was great and the staff were extremely friendly. My whole experience here made what could have otherwise been a very sad occasion a much easier and more pleasant couple of days.
