Cefnaire

Newtown sits on the River Severn in the heart of Powys, surrounded by castles, halls and gardens worth visiting. The town itself has shops, restaurants and a theatre, plus access to outdoor activities from quad biking to golf. Cefnaire is a detached farmhouse less than a mile from the centre, recently renovated to blend period features with modern comfort.

The property sleeps ten across five bedrooms and three bathrooms. Downstairs there's a living room with Freesat and an open fire, a dining room, a kitchen with electric cooker and dishwasher, a utility room with washer-dryer, and a cinema room. Upstairs are further bedrooms, some with ensuite showers. The grounds include lawned areas front and back, an enclosed garden with seating, and a private hot tub. Three cars can park on site. Bed linen, towels, wi-fi and heating are included; fuel for the fires is too. One dog is welcome. No smoking indoors.

Great little getaway for a weekend with friends. Convenient location for shops so you don't have to take everything including the kitchen sink with you!

Girls long weekend break, 3 nights. We had a lovely, relaxing holiday. Cottage is homely, warm, comfortable with everything you need for a self catering stay. The town of Newtown is only 15 minute walk with shops, bars, restaurants and takeaways. We went along to the Newtown festival which was a great day, live music, drink, food and goodies to buy. We visited Roomanation, an 'escape room' venture, 45 minutes drive from Newtown which was a good laugh. The hot tub was a great hit with all of the girls. The owner welcomed us and showed us around. Nothing too much trouble and replied to any texts immediately. Thoroughly enjoyable holiday. Recommended.

On the first look, the property is really lovely, scenery lovely too. However, when we arrived the door was open with no welcome pack in sight so we didn’t have the door code to get into the next part of the building till we finally got hold of the host later that night. The cleanliness of the place is really quite poor, my crawling baby boy had a bath and was put in nice pjs only to be ruined by crawling on the really dirty floor. The hot tub was cold and there is no thermostat to turn it up so none of us went in it. When cooking dinner one of the oven doors doesn’t shut properly so didn’t reach a good temperature. We found all the remotes only had 1 battery in so was impossible to turn anything on and when we finally turned the cinema screen on the surround sound doesn’t work. This place really needs some TLC it’s such a shame as could be perfect but we wouldn’t return as it wasn’t cheap and was grubby. This was for my dad’s 60th birthday and we really wanted it to be perfect.
