Dolwen Isaf
Powys
Dolwen Isaf stands on a working farm in rural Powys, surrounded by moorland and woodland a few miles from Welshpool. The landscape here is what draws people: Glyndwr's Way, a long-distance walking route through mid-Wales, runs nearby, and the open countryside is thick with paths for hiking and cycling. From the upper rooms you can see across the farmland; at night the dark skies are genuinely dark.
The cottage is a detached stone building with three bedrooms—a kingsize, a double, and a twin—and two bathrooms, one with a bath and shower, the other a ground-floor cubicle shower. The ground floor opens into a combined kitchen and dining space with a full range of cookers, ovens and appliances for serious cooking, plus a separate living room where a woodburner is the focal point. Logs are supplied. A patio and lawned garden sit at the back; parking for three cars is on site. Wifi, bed linen, towels and heating are included.
This works equally well for families, groups of friends or couples after a quiet break. The location suits anyone wanting to spend days walking or cycling without driving far to reach a trailhead. No smoking inside.
