Melancroft

Melancroft is a detached house standing on its own lane near Presteigne, with everything needed for self-catering already in place. The kitchen comes fully fitted with an electric cooker and hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge-freezer, so preparing meals is straightforward. A utility room contains a washing machine and tumble dryer. Heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are included in your stay, and one pet can come for free.

Three bedrooms sleep up to six people: a ground-floor kingsize with an ensuite bathroom, a double on the first floor, and a zip-and-link kingsize that converts to two singles on request. A separate shower room serves the upstairs. The ground floor also has a sitting room with smart TV and French doors opening onto a patio, with garden furniture and views across farmland. Private parking accommodates four cars, and a bike store is on site. The property is non-smoking.

Walking dominates the area—Offa's Dyke runs nearby, and local gardens including Hergest Croft are within reach. The Sheepshed is close by. Hay-on-Wye and Kington are both short drives away, offering a literary festival in May and open gardens to visit year-round.
