What guests say
Just read a post from a month ago and have to disagree wholeheartledly! This is a lovely cafe with interesting decor rather than chintzy rural kitch. It serves lovely, lunches (with a specials board), coffees and light cakes, of a scale perfectly adequate for the average diner! Contrary to the rather offensive ageist comment on the previous review, we call in at least a couple of times a week and can assure everyone that the clients are from all age groups, as the village is in a popular walking and cycling area. It is also a rural village and so, yes, dogs are permitted, as they are in many establishments in the countryside.

For 20 years we have enjoyed having our special occasion celebration meals here. Today it was Sunday lunch with traditional roast dinners or in my case a really enjoyable Fish platter. The food is exceptional, the service friendly and it is lovely to see the same staff there over the years too.

Had a lovely stay over night whilst attending a wedding close by, communication was friendly and exceptional. Arrival early and had lunch which was again excellent and good value, staff again tentative and professional. Our room was small but perfectly comfortable and clean with a front street view. Breakfast was fresh and tasty. Would visit again.
