Built in the 1600s, Alden Cottage is a detached stone property that sits in the heart of the Forest of Bowland. The cottage has been restored while keeping its period character—exposed beams and traditional details remain, but inside everything works for modern stays. A wood burner warms the living and dining room where a TV offers Freeview. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob for proper cooking, and a microwave for quick meals.
Upstairs, one double bedroom (4ft 6in) has its own bathroom with a bath, shower over, heated towel rail and bidet. Bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi and the fuel for the wood burner all come as standard. A welcome pack arrives with basics—bread, milk, croissants, fruit, butter, jam, wine and fresh flowers. There's a front garden with seating and parking for one car on site.
The location suits walkers and people wanting to explore the Ribble Valley and surrounding countryside. Clitheroe town is nearby for shops and food. No smoking inside. Check-in is after 4pm, departure before 10am.

A wonderful place to stay. Brenda and Richard are the most welcoming of hosts. The cottage is well equiped and kept to a very high standard in a great location with a beautiful garden. Easy access to the delights of the Forest of Bowland with plenty of places to choose to eat out. Highly recommended and we look forward to going again!

Alden Cottage is set in a beautiful part of Lancashire. The Yorkshire dales, The Lake District and the scenic Trough of Bowland are within easy reach. The cottage is in a peaceful area and is so comfortable, very well equipped, lovely lounge with a log fire and a beautiful bathroom and bedroom. Brenda and Richard are so welcoming and their garden is a picture. Sit in the garden and listen to the wild life around and relax.
