Hurst Green sits among the rolling hills and rivers of the Ribble Valley, within reach of the Tolkien Trail—a walking route that passes Cromwell's Bridge and Stonyhurst College—and the village's 17th-century pub. Madeline Cottage is a ground-floor studio conversion, sleeping two, with a double bed, wood burner, open-plan living and kitchen, and a shower room. Patio doors lead to an enclosed garden with seating. One small dog stays free.
The kitchen has an electric hob, combi microwave-oven, fridge-freezer and washing machine. Wi-Fi, heating, electricity, bed linen and towels are included; logs for the burner cost £7.50 per bag after the initial supply. There is on-road parking and a welcome pack on arrival. No smoking is permitted.
