Dating from the 1600s, Foxtales is a characterful cottage in the quiet village of Gisburn, on the border between Yorkshire and Lancashire. The building retains period features throughout, including original stonework around the fireplace in the main living space. The property is yours alone for the duration of your stay, with the village pub within easy reach and countryside on the doorstep—though there is no garden of your own, green spaces dot the surrounding area within walking distance.
Inside, you get two bedrooms and two bathrooms across the two floors. Downstairs holds the living and dining room, where a sofa bed offers flexible sleeping, an electric wood-effect stove provides warmth, and a pool table converts from the dining setup. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking, with electric oven and hob, dishwasher, and washing machine. Upstairs are two proper bedrooms: one with a double bed, the other with a single day bed plus a pull-out single. A shower room serves the upper floor. Essentials like heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are covered, and there's a welcome pack for you and doggy extras for your pet.
The location suits families or groups wanting a base for exploring the Ribble Valley and beyond—the Lake District, Manchester, the coast and Pendle Hill are all within an hour's drive. There is parking for two cars on site. One dog stays free. The property is no smoking throughout.
